Korea. History of a reunification process

By Eunsook Yang

España: 2007. Publishing company: Cataratas. 232 pages.

This paperback written by Korean researcher Eunsook Yang, is a synthesis of her doctoral thesis in Spain, directed by Antonio Marquina in the Complutense University of Madrid. Her thesis has been an arduous path of obstacles, by the origin and the causes of the Korean division, the civil war, the folk followed by two halves of the peninsula since 1950, and the devastating effects of the Cold War’s end in the North.

Going back to the first nationalist and modernizer impulse, born inside the Chosun dynasty at the end of the 19th century, Eunsook Yang offers a detailed analysis of the conditions and the challenges with a view toward the reunification.
