President Argentina plans to visit Korea and China

The president of Argentina, Cristina Fernández, prepares a tour through Asia that will include China and Korea, besides the trips she already has organized to Europe and the Americas.

After two delays, Cristina Fernández will visit on October 14th and 15th the cities of Bangalore and Bombay, in India. She desires that her trip to India become an Asia tour that include visits to China and the Republic of Korea for the analysis of economic matters.

Argentine diplomatic authorities said that the chancellor Jorge Taiana will try to summarize the visits to China and Korea, although by now they confirmed the Fernández´s trips to some Latin American countries, United States and Europe.

Fifth National Congress of Korean Studies was celerated in Córdoba

Fifth National Congress of Korean Studies was celerated in Córdoba city, Argentina, on August 26th, 27th and 28th, 2009.

The theme was "The Korean Peninsula’s dilemma" and was organizad by the Argentinean Association of Korean Studies, the Program of Korean and Northeast Asian Contemporary Studies / Professorship of Asian and African Contemporary History and the Program of Oriental Asian Studies - Center of Advanced Studies, National University of Cordoba.

The event was promoted for The Korea Foundation, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, the Argentine Association of Korean Businessmen, and the Korean Community in Cordoba.

The topics in the groups were: History; Politics; Culture and Society; Economy; International Relations and Migrations.

Korean movies in Buenos Aires

From August 11th it was carried out in the Room Leopoldo Lugones of the San Martin Theater, Buenos Aires, the event "Meeting with the Korean Movies". It had the support of the Korean Cultural Center in Latin America, the Film Counsel of Korea and the Cinemateca Argentina Foundation.

After the reception, that included Korean traditional food, the ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Argentina, Mr. Kim Byung Kwon, and the Director of the Korean Cultural Center, Mr. Yi Chongyul, offered some gratitude words to the guests and public. After those allocutions, it was projected the movie "The show should continue".

New course of Korean language at the Korean Cultural Center

The Korean Cultural Center, along with the Korea Argentina Studies Center of UBA, will give start this month of September the second four-months course of Korean language.

It has one course, divided in basic and advanced levels, and it is dictated on Saturdays. Due to the great interest, both courses are full.

Argentina Ceramicist travels to Korea

The ceramicist from the La Pampa province, Cristina Fiorucci, has been invited to integrate the delegation of seven Argentine artists. The group will travel to China and Korea during September and until October 15th., 2009. The invitation is to participate in international cultural events, in cities with old history in the traditional ceramics.

The artisan Cristina Fiorucci was called by the organizer of the group of Argentine and Latin-American artists, Vilma Villaverde (member of the International Academy of Ceramics and president of the International Ceramics Association in Argentina).

Fiorucci will participate in Korea in the Symposium of Argentine Artists in O-San city and also she will take part in the inauguration of the Mega Exposition ONGGI, in the city of Ulsan.
