Buenos Aires (Télam)- The Korean community in Argentina donated to the House of Salta in Buenos Aires 10 thousand liters of milk and 15 thousand noodle boxes and money for the victims of the avalanche in Tartagal, in the framework of a supportive campaign 2008-2009 carried out by the Korean Central Newspaper.
The donation was delivered in the Nuevo Puerto, private deposit of a logistic business, in the Avenue Presidente Ramón Castillo 900, 6th street, in the zone of Retiro station.
The ceremony was attended by Domingo Avellaneda, delegate to the Federal Capital of the governor of Salta, Juan Manuel Urtubey; Alfredo Heredia and Enrique Solari, advisors of the delegation of House of Salta; Esteban María Chalá, consultant of White Helmets Commission of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Pedro Choi, director of the Korean Central Newspaper.
Avellaneda thanked "the solidarity of the Korean community" in the country and explained that the food will be "a great aid for all the victims" of the recent avalanche. "There were many places where it was possible to send donations. However, upon it came to our knowledge what happened in Tartagal we thought that it would be a good opportunity to assist the ones that really need aid. I believe that we found the right receivers", indicated Choi.
Twelve years ago, Korean Central Newspaper started a supportive campaign in aid of the Argentine poor and this year it collected 47.013 pesos, included the expense of transportation, for the city of Tartagal
Lobos (Infolobos) - Last March 22th was carried out the ceremony to celebrate the 4th anniversary of the Korean Sports Club, which has its headquarters in the Lobos Municipality. Embassy of Korea’s authorities, officials from the local government and a lot of people attended to the event at the stadium in the route 205.
Celebrating the fourth anniversary of the entity, the names of people from Lobos were imposed to three grandstands of the stadium. Two of them were recognitions in life: to Oscar Casal, president of the Soccer League of Lobos for having accepted the incorporation of the first team by the Korean community and today collaborator of the club; and Carlos A. Jáuregui, press director of the institution.
After the match, the anniversary celebration was completed with a reception that included a cake, fireworks and greetings of the H. E. the Korean Ambassador in Argentina, Kim Byung Kwon, to the staff and coaches. The Ambassador was the main authority in the ceremony together with three Korean legislators that arrived at Ezeiza Airport just before the celebration and were directly driven to the stadium
The University of Buenos Aires (UBA) Korea Argentina Study Center (CECA) together with the Korean Cultural Center in Latin America have organized a course of Korean language in parallel with the one CECA carries out for several years with the UBA Centro Rojas. This course consists not only of theoretical lectures but also it counts of other more dynamic activities, as for example Korean movies, to give the student a greater approach to Korean culture.

(Konet.cc) Last February, the samulnori group NURIPAE (a Korean instruments percussion music band) has traveled through 6 Argentine provinces during 14 days, promoting the Korean culture in the country. San Luis, Mendoza, San Juan, Córdoba, Tucumán and Misiones were the provinces that had the opportunity to receive them this time.
With performances and workshops open to the general public, the presentations were a success, grasping the interest of locals on Korean culture.
