Paula Iadevito has also obtained the approval of UBA Institutional Recognition for her project New sceneries, new actors in modern Korea: Reflections on the (re)configuration of public and private spaces

Pilar Álvarez defended her MA thesis at Yonsei University on the Construction of the Collective Memory of Colonial Korea in the Contemporary South Korean Cinema, in the beginning of 2008

Carolina Mera will carry out her field work on the 1.5 generation of Korean – Argentineans in the City of Los Ángeles during this September.

Professors Robert Buswell and John Duncan of the University of California (UCLA) visited the country and offered Conferences about Korea in our University, in La Plata National University and in the School of Oriental Studies of El Salvador University.

We have also received Prof. Kim Kio Chung, Executive Director of the Asian Pacific Women's Information Network Center and Professor in Sookmyung Women's University of Korea. She presented a conference on Women and New Technologies in Korea, co organized with the Cátedra Regional UNESCO Women, Science and Technology in Latin America

Prof. Han Sang Jin from Seoul National University and Prof. Shim Young Hee, Director of the Hanyang Institute for Women, offered classes on contemporary aspects of Korean society, in UBA School of Social Science and in La Plata National University, with the enthusiastic participation of graduate and undergraduate students.
